Essentially you can aggregate almost all of your online activity, publishing and sharing photos via email, chat, or blog simultaneously.  Take a look at the video for a better understanding of how it works.  You can start at about 5:00 to skip the intro, and around 25:00 the video gets more detailed with the API, which you can skip if you’re not interested in the development side of Wave.
